Join Leadership Team
Here’s your opportunity to shape the future of our Network by nominating yourself or another individual for our open leadership positions. You can nominate for as many positions as you wish. The vibrancy of our Network is dependent upon strong and engaged volunteer leaders. We encourage you to selectively consider members that you believe will work diligently in helping to advance our profession and strengthen our future.
Chair duties - Contact between Leadership Team and Advocacy Subcommittee, submits any activities subcommittee members have decided on to Leadership for final approval during GIN meeting. Representative for the Wisconsin Council on Mental Health Meeting of the Legislative and Policy Committee. Carries out the tasks for maintaining and executing the goals and objectives set forth in the Annual Plan and Budget for the Wisconsin Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (WAMFT). Responds to emails from membership. Writes articles for the eNewsletter. Assists Advocacy Subcommittee in working within an annual budget that is approved by WAMFT Leadership. Works with treasurer on CE authorizations and budget items. Drafts contracts with chair-elect and treasurer on upcoming speakers, venues, catering, etc. Creates via website and attends monthly Advocacy Subcommittee meetings. Attends GIN meetings (minimum once every two months). Commits 10-15 hours a month.
Chair-Elect duties - Contact between Leadership Team and Educational Subcommittee, submits any activities subcommittee members have decided on to Leadership for final approval. Alternate for the Wisconsin Council on Mental Health Meeting of the Legislative and Policy Committee. Assist Chair in executing tasks for the Wisconsin Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (WAMFT). Respond to emails from membership. Write articles for the newsletter on subcommittee events. Assist Educational Subcommittee in working within an annual budget that is approved by the WAMFT Leadership Committee. Draft event forms required by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Hold monthly Educational Subcommittee meetings. Attend GIN meetings (minimum once every two months). Commit 5-10 hours a month.
Secretary duties - Contact between Leadership Team and Networking Subcommittee, submits any activities subcommittee members have decided on to Leadership for final approval. Maintain records and meeting minutes for the Wisconsin Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (WAMFT). Add and remove events created in Zoom, Google Calendar, the website, and on Facebook. Assist Networking Subcommittee in working within an annual budget that is approved by the WAMFT Leadership Committee. In charge of the Newsletter content and distribution to WAMFT membership (3 times a year). Also includes writing articles for the newsletter on subcommittee events. Holds monthly Networking Subcommittee meetings or add comments to agenda if unable to attend. Attend GIN meetings (minimum once every two months). Commit about 3-5 hours a month.
Treasurer duties - Reviews and manages CEU authorizations for events outside AAMFT & WAMFT. Certifies expenses of WAMFT to AAMFT. Drafts annual budget with input from other members of leadership annually. Creates and signs check requests for speakers, events, our lobbyist, etc. Attends monthly WAMFT meetings (minimum once every two months) and provides updates on financial standing and any financial concerns. Attends annual WAMFT Meeting and reports to the membership on the fiscal position of the GIN (Geographic Interest Network). Writes eNewsletter updates on fiscal position (3 times a year). Responds to any email queries related to finances or financial processes of WAMFT or the treasurer responsibilities/role. Additionally, the treasurer is responsible for bringing any information to Leadership and AAMFT CEO that might suggest fraud or illegal behavior of any member in the Network in order to determine whether the matter merits an investigation by the CEO and/or Component Evaluation Committee (CEC). Commit 2-5 hours a month (varies based on month activities).
