WAMFT Annual Meeting & Discussion Forum

This presentation is provided by WAMFT Leadership and Subcommittee Members to update membership on the state of our GIN. We will explore two major developments we have taken on this year specifically. The first is detailing our progress with accomplishing our AAMFT Secondary Advocacy Goal of getting MFTs in schools. We will outline the specific steps we have taken legislatively and within our governmental connections. Next we will explore a workforce development task we have taken on with the help of our graduate and certification programs. This includes grant opportunities within our state and how we are collaboratively working together to increase student MFTs in WI, placement for MFT students in WI as they collect their hours for licensure, and steps they can take to further their careers in the private/public sector, as educators, and as supervisors.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will learn how legislation is drafted to move the MFT forward within Wisconsin.
  2. Participants will learn about the workforce development efforts Leadership has made with master's and certificate programs.
  3. Participants will explore the importance behind workforce development collaboration and advocacy efforts required to grow the Wisconsin MFT population.
