Bio

Thomas J. Lewis, D.Min., LMFT, LPC, is a systemic pastoral psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, trainer, and ordained clergy member with more than two decades of professional counseling experience. A retired United States Air Force veteran and State of Colorado retiree, he now provides individual, couple, and family psychotherapy through The Family Ministry Counseling and Psychotherapy Service, a faith-based counseling practice located in Phoenix, Arizona.

Dr. Lewis integrates biological, psychological, relational, spiritual, and theological dimensions of human experience through a biopsychosocial-plus-spiritual approach to assessment, case conceptualization, and treatment. His clinical interests include family systems, spirituality and mental health, faith-sensitive psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and the ethical integration of spirituality into professional practice within the AAMFT Code of Ethics.

His work is grounded in the belief that effective psychotherapy requires attention to the whole person and that clinicians can ethically address spirituality, faith, and religion while maintaining client autonomy, cultural humility, and professional boundaries. He is currently developing The Thomas Ecumenical Counseling Center to expand faith-based, accessible counseling and psychotherapy services, behavioral health partnerships, professional training, and community-based mental health initiatives.
