2026 Tucson Symposium

Across the Years: An Intergenerational Gathering of Arizona MFTs

September 26th and 27th hosted at University of Arizona

The Arizona Interest Network (AIN) is hosting a two-day, symposium-style gathering designed to strengthen and connect the MFTs in Arizona. This event is built around a simple but powerful idea: our profession is strongest when we intentionally bring together multiple generations of clinicians to learn from one another, build community, and co-create what comes next.

Day One will focus on strategic planning and visioning for the future of AIN and the MFT profession in Arizona. We will invite a select group of stakeholders that represent different career stages, professional settings, identities, and lived experiences. The goal will be to engage in structured, collaborative conversations to not only assess where we are as a network, but to intentionally design how AIN can remain relevant, responsive, and valuable to MFTs for the next generation. This will be a working day centered on dialogue, idea-sharing, and collective problem-solving.

Day Two will be a learning-focused, community-wide professional development day open to all MFTs, from students to retirees. The educational programming will reflect the core values of this gathering: strengthening professional community, developing leadership at every career stage, expanding how MFT skills are used across diverse settings, and sharpening “micro” clinical and professional skills that have immediate real-world impact.

In addition to the two main event days, a community happy hour will create space for informal connection, relationship-building, and cross-generational conversation. The future of our profession is built not only through strategy, but through relationships.

At its heart, this symposium is about continuity, belonging, and stewardship: honoring the clinicians who built this profession, supporting those carrying it now, and intentionally welcoming those who will shape what it becomes.
We are currently seeking community partners and sponsors for this event. Below is a review of the levels we have available and you can read the full partnership policy HERE
