About ALAMFT Network

Alabama Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (ALAMFT) is the Alabama General Interest Network of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), an international professional organization that was founded in 1942.  

ALAMFT is a multidisciplinary organization of AAMFT clinical, student, and associate members in Alabama. Members include marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers, professional counselors, substance abuse counselors, clinical nurse practitioners, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, and other professionals in allied fields.   

ALAMFT promotes and helps maintain high professional standards of ethics and practice for its members. 

Misson Statement

ALAMFT is the primary education, training, and networking resource for those practicing systemic and relational therapies in Alabama. 

The mission of ALAMFT is to provide opportunities for professional development, education, and growth to enhance the delivery of marriage and family therapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups in Alabama.  ALAMFT will advocate in partnership with the Family Team for practice parity for MFTs in Alabama.
