The Mission Statement of the Florida Interest Network is to serve our AAMFT Members by

  1. Being the virtual home for Members who are without a local chapter and/or who want the convenient presence on an online community,

  2. Providing and supporting professional educational opportunities for Student Members as well as professional, Licensed Members,

  3. Promoting our profession through local, legislative, or academic efforts, and

  4. Collaborating with other family-friendly organizations for the care of families.

MFT STUDENT CORNER

Marriage and Family Therapy, and other behavioral and mental health professional students within the state of Florida should all be pleased to know that FIN is what we have been waiting for in terms of having the opportunity to network with established professionals in our local areas, using that networking to create mentorships, all the while developing more possibilities for future recognition for ourselves, and our field! But we are going to need your help. As students, your voice is needed in combination with FIN’s dedication to advocacy and its professional lobbyist representation in the state legislature: all of us help to determine the direction of MFTs in the state of Florida and in what ways do and will we make it to Licensure. For instance, why is that Florida does not currently allow any portion of gained pre-graduate internship hours to count towards post-graduate licensure hours in a similar manner to that of Georgia, Virginia, and New York? Let us know what you think is important. Let us know what it is you want and need as a student. The Florida Interest Network is ready to hear from you at FINAAMFT@GMAIL.COM

We invite all Student and Pre-Clinical Members to submit a Logo idea for the Florida Interest Network. This logo will be used in all of our outward facing media: newsletter, website, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.

Some interesting combination of Florida, Family and Therapy in words and/or images. Once selected, you will have bragging rights as the one who created the “look” of FIN! And we’ll have some other goodies for the winner too. Submissions accepted until we find one that works! Feel free to draw inspiration from other website, especially the other AAMFT interest Groups.
