Birth of FIN

Welcome to the Florida Interest Network!

Our nickname is FIN.  We were just born in July of 2018 when our former Florida Association of Marriage and Family Therapy division disbanded so that we could continue our work in two “twins”:  the Florida Family Therapy Association and the FIN.

While we are related to FFTA and will collaborate on many things, FIN was created as part of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy

This means we will begin to offer FREE webinars to Members on various subjects we polled you about, like how to apply MFT models to our work, what’s new in Florida about HIV, human trafficking, AND also keep you informed about how to take care of your license.  There are many new ideas that the 491 Board is addressing that will directly affect you or your supervisees.  We will be directly connected to our lobbyist, Melinda Piller, Ph.D., who will continue working on our legislative package to the 2019 session that starts on March 5.

Just to be clear, we welcome all mental health professionals. Whether you are LCSWs, Case Managers, LMHCs, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, or other Health professionals, if you are interested in the practice of systemic therapy, come join us!

It’s going to be fun!  Welcome, and thanks for your support!  We look forward to “meeting” you soon!
