Before You Register

Check your schedule first — you must attend every session in full for the course you select. Missing any session will result in forfeiture of your registration fees and the need to retake the course.

Courses may occur on holidays and important dates that you observe. Be sure to confirm all dates and times before registering.

Course Options & Fees

There are two fully virtual formats:

  • Option A – Hybrid Virtual: self-paced online work + live interactive sessions
    Members: $750 | Non-Members: $850

  • Option B – Live Interactive Virtual: all live sessions
    Members: $750 | Non-Members: $850 

AAMFT Members and Non-Members are welcome to take the course. One must be an AAMFT Member (either early or full Professional membership with or without the Clinical Fellow designation) to complete the course toward their AS designation training. Non-members must become members before beginning the supervision training. 

Helpful Information:

  • Make sure your email on file with AAMFT is current — course info and Zoom links are sent via email.
  • TEXTBOOK REQUIREMENT: There is a textbook requirement for both options of the Fundamentals of Supervision course. This text is sold separately and is NOT included in the course price. You can purchase the textbook using this link.
  • While we make every effort to ensure our online learning platform and other technologies are in working order, unforeseen glitches and outages can periodically happen. While these are out of our control, we make every effort to resolve issues and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Policies

Attendance Policy:

Failure to attend all course sessions in their entirety will result in losing registration fees (no partial refunds) and having to retake the entire course. No extensions, course transfers, or other accommodations will be made if you miss a session. It is your responsibility to check your calendar for each course's availability and attend at the correct times. A working camera is also required. Your camera must be on in order to participate in the live interactive sessions. 

Transferring Courses:
Due to very high demand, if you need to transfer to a new course date and time, a $50 transfer fee will be charged. If you need to switch to a different course date and time and there are no openings in the current quarter, you must first cancel your registration according to our cancellation and refund policy and re-register once more courses open in the following quarter. We cannot hold money on your account for future courses you must request a refund. Transfers must be made prior to your original course start date.

Cancellation Policy/Refund Policy:
Due to the limited availability of spaces in the online Approved Supervision courses, cancellations and any subsequent requests for a full refund must be made 30 days before your first scheduled interactive session starts. Cancellations need to be made within 30 days of the course to be eligible for a 25% refund. If you need to switch to a different course date and time and there are no openings, you must first cancel your registration according to our cancellation and refund policy and then re-register once more courses open.

We cannot hold money in your account for future courses. If you are canceling your registration, you must request a refund. All requests must be made in writing and sent to central@aamft.org.

Group Registration:
We offer private fundamentals courses specifically for one agency/university/company. The group must consist of ten (10) participants. Please email learning@aamft.org for additional information on how we can start to plan accommodations for your group.

If your group is not interested in taking a private course, we will allow groups of 5 or less to attend the Virtual Fundamentals course only. We strongly suggest that you complete and submit the attached form as soon as your group decides on a virtual course to register for. A group will not be registered until we receive a completed form. We cannot reserve spots. Please send completed forms to central@aamft.org.
