Where will all the different workshops and receptions be held?

All of the events will be held at the JW Marriott Austin.

Is there a discount at the hotel?

We have secured discounted rates at the JW Marriott Auston. See the conference website for rates and reservation information.

How many hours of continuing education are offered?

There are up to 28.5 available hours of continuing education credit. A full list is here.

Are the institutes included in the price of the full conference?

No. Institutes are an additional $165 if registered by July 31, or $200 after that date.

Do I have to pay separately for the CE letter?

No, the cost of a CE letter is incorporated into the registration fees.

How do I get my CE verification?

You can print your CE letters as needed through the Certification Manager. Log in to print or email your certification letter. This is also accessible under the AAMFT app under "More."

If I registered for the supervision track can I take other workshops?

No. Participants must attend the full track to allow the presenter to deliver a more comprehensive and interactive learning experience. 

Do I have to attend the institute if I am registered for the supervision track?

Yes, the full supervision track is required to fulfill the interactive requirements for AAMFT Approved Supervision.

Where can I park since I will be driving?

Rates for hotel parking are here. Or, check with the hotel you're staying at for parking information.

Will there be wifi in the hotel?

Wifi will be available in a limited capacity in the AAMFT Exhibit Space.

Will there be a place for me to print hand-outs?

Printing can be done at your hotel's office center at your own cost.

Will the hand-outs be available for us to print before the conference?

Some handouts will be available via the AAMFT app. Not all sessions will provide handouts in advance of the conference.

What if the handouts are not available through the mobile app?

Handout materials are uploaded to the mobile app as they are received from each presenter. Some presenters may have chosen not to submit these materials.

Do I have to pick out my courses when I register?

No. Session selection will occur onsite. Space will be limited to room capacity, so as you review the program for courses of your choice, plan to arrive at the session early to reserve your seat.

Is there a registration group rate?

Group discounts are available for agencies/practices with over 10 attendees. Please call 703-838-9808 for more information.

What if I don’t like a session after it has started? Can I leave and go join another one?

Yes, as long as seating is available you may change go to another session. The volunteer stationed at the door of the session will be able to check you in. Please be advised that AAMFT and the hotel do not allow participants to stand or otherwise block egress in any session room.

Is food provided?

Some events include free food, including the opening reception in the Exhibition Hall. Other events like the Networking Luncheon include food, but are ticketed. Otherwise, food is available to purchase on your own at the hotel or local restaurants. Check out Visit Austin for deals!

Can I bring my spouse/child/friend with me for free if they aren’t an MFT?

Family and friends are welcome to visit our Exhibit Hall and attend the Spotlight MFT Reception at no charge. Educational sessions are restricted to registered participants only. AAMFT does not provide childcare.

Will the CEs be accepted toward my license renewal?

AAMFT is approved by numerous national and state boards. Please check our brochure for a list and confirm directly with your state licensing board.

Is the supervision course going to be offered?

Yes. You can register for either the Refresher course pre-conference Institute, or the full Supervision Track.

What are the Research Discussions?

The Research Discussions are sessions that highlight the latest in research for marriage and family therapy. They are held during four separate sessions. This allows the presenters more time to discuss their research. See the full schedule here.

How can I volunteer?

Student members of AAMFT can volunteer for the Annual Conference by going to the Volunteer page. Only a limited numbers of applications will be accepted so it is better to apply as soon as possible.

Can AAMFT help me find a roommate?

If you are looking for a roommate, you can start a topic and post your request on the Community tab.

Will I be able to purchase conference recordings?

Some recordings will be available after the conference on Teneo, AAMFT’s online learning system.

Can I get a refund if I’m not able to attend? What if I have an emergency?

Cancellations and any subsequent request for refund must be made in writing by August 16, 2019. Upon cancellation you have the right to request that your fee (in full) be held (for up to one year) and used toward application to another AAMFT event registration.  If you prefer a refund, cancellations made prior to June 30, 2019 will receive a 75% refund. Cancellations made between June 30 and August 16, 2019 will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be offered after August 16, 2019.

Can I attend just one day of the conference?

Yes. Friday and Saturday registration fees are $230 if purchased by June 30. After June 30, the price increases to $335. Sunday registration is $200 if purchased by June 30 and $305 after that date.

Do I have to register if I am only presenting?

Yes, all presenters are required to register for the event.
