Illinois Licensure Portability House Bill Passes Committee Hearing, Awaits Full Vote on House Floor

We're thrilled to share a positive update on Illinois House Bill 5246 and its recent journey through the Health Care Licenses Committee. HB 5246 passed unanimously during the committee hearing, marking a significant stride in our mission to enhance mobility and accessibility within the MFT profession and address shortages of quality mental health clinicians. With the bill advancing to a vote on the full House floor, we're one step closer to realizing our vision of addressing mental health care disparities and recognizing the valuable contributions of MFTs in providing holistic therapy.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to this milestone. Your written testimonies and proponent slips played a pivotal role in emphasizing the importance of licensure portability for MFTs across the state.

Special recognition is due to Tara Vogt for her invaluable testimony before the committee. Her insights provided some essential perspective on the benefits of licensure portability for mental health professionals and the communities they serve.

As we celebrate this progress, our commitment to advocating for licensure portability for MFTs in Illinois remains steadfast. We deeply appreciate the dedication of all who have contributed their time and effort to this important initiative.

Stay tuned for further updates as we navigate the legislative process!
