Presentation Description:
In this workshop, you’ll learn practical techniques to help your clients (and even yourself) address worries in a way that is effective and creates lasting stress relief. Selena Brown will explore how more trauma-informed and sensitively responsive interventions can further cultivate a sense of safety in the room and lead you to discover, understand and assist worry from the inside (body) out. Rooted in Narrative Therapy and Liberation Psychology, this workshop will move beyond theory into practice using body-centered experiential exercises rooted in Liberation Psychology and journaling explorations based on David Epston’s Narrative Therapy. This two-pronged approach to witnessing our inner world will help us tap into our needs as the holiday season approaches, clarify our intentions going into the final weeks of the year, and create achievable self-care goals to nurture ourselves—all so that we can better show up for our clients.
