Here's How MaineCare Cuts Impact LMFTs

The 2016 Maine legislative session ended earlier this month.  According to news reports, in general, the 2016 legislative session was less contentious than last year’s legislative session.

In response to MaineCare’s proposed cuts Representative Gattine sponsored legislation, LD 1696, that would establish a moratorium on any reimbursement rate changes related to the MaineCare Benefits Manual, Sections 13, 17, 28, and 65, until at least 60 days after the Maine Department of Health and Human Services completes a rate study in January 2017 pertaining to these proposed cuts. LD 1696 passed the Maine House and Senate on April 13, but was vetoed by Governor LePage on April 25. The legislature overrode the governor’s veto when it met on April 29.
