Where will all the different workshops and receptions going to be held?

All of the events will be held at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

Is there a theme for this year’s conference?

There is not a specific theme for this year’s conference.

Is there a discount at the hotel? 

We have secured discounted rates at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. See the conference website for rates and reservation information.

How many hours of continuing education are offered?

There are up to 28.5 available hours of continuing education credit. A full list is here.

Are the institutes included in the price of the full conference?

No. Institutes are an additional $165 if registered by July 31, or $200 after that date.

Do I have to pay separately for the CE letter?

Yes, a CE letter costs $10 and can be selected during registration.

When will I receive my CE letter?

CE verification letters are sent via email 4-6 weeks after the close of the event.

What happened to the poster session?

The poster sessions are now called Research Discussions. Formerly one hour, research discussions are now held during four separate sessions. This allows the presenters more time to discuss their research. See the full schedule here.

If I registered for the supervision track can I take other workshops?

No. Participants must attend the full track to allow the presenter to deliver a more comprehensive and interactive learning experience.

If I registered for the MFT Exam Prep track can I take other workshops?

Participants must attend the full MFT Exam Prep track on Thursday through Saturday. Participants may choose a Sunday seminar.

Is there a textbook for the MFT Exam Prep track?

Yes, the text is called LMFT Exam Preparation Workshop Manual and it is included in the price of your registration, a $175 value. The text will be sent to you in advance of the conference.

Do I have to attend the institute if I am registered for the supervision track?

Yes, the full supervision track is required to fulfill the interactive requirements for AAMFT Approved Supervision.

Will my nametag and tickets be mailed to me?

No, this is a change from previous conferences. Your badge and tickets will be available to print onsite, and volunteers will be on hand to assist you.

Where can I print my tickets?

Your tickets can be printed at kiosks in the Exhibit Area. All you need is your AAMFT ID number, or you can look up your ID number by your last name.

Where can I park since I will be driving?

Daily parking is available at the Marriott Marquis and offsite. View information here.

Will there be wi-fi in the hotel?

Wi-fi will be available in the public areas of the Marriott Marquis and in the AAMFT Exhibit Space.

Will there be a place for me to print hand-outs?

Printing can be done at the hotel printing center at your own cost.

Will the hand-outs be available for us to print before the conference?

Some handouts will be available via the AAMFT17 app. Not all sessions will provide handouts in advance of the conference.

What if the handouts are not available through the mobile app?

Handout materials are uploaded to the mobile app as they are received from each presenter. Some presenters may have chosen not to submit these materials.  

Do I have to pick out my courses when I register?

Yes. Please review the program and select the courses of your choice during registration. If you want to change a selection in advance of the conference, call Central at 703-838-9808. While at the conference, you can change your session by going to the Registration desk, or at the door of your session if space is available.

Is there a registration group rate?

Group discounts are available for agencies/practices with over 10 attendees. Please call 703-838-9808 for more information.

Is there going to be a showcase this year? What are we supposed to do?

Yes, the Showcase is on Friday night from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. If you are interested in highlighting your program or division, click here for more information and the order form.

What if I don’t like a session after it has started? Can I leave and go join another one?

Yes, as long as seating is available you may change go to another session. The volunteer stationed at the door of the session will be able to check you in. Please be advised that AAMFT and the Marriott Marquis do not allow participants to stand or otherwise block egress in any session room.

Is food provided?

Some events include free food, including the opening reception in the Exhibition Hall. Other events like the Networking Luncheon and Foundation Reception include food, but are ticketed. Otherwise, food is available to purchase on your own at the hotel or local restaurants. Check out Visit Indy for deals!

Can I bring my spouse/child/friend with me for free if they aren’t an MFT?

Family and friends are welcome to visit our Exhibit Hall and attend the Night Out Atlanta Launch Party at no charge. Educational sessions are restricted to registered participants only. AAMFT does not provide childcare.

Will the CEs be accepted toward my license renewal?

AAMFT is approved by numerous national and state boards. Please check our brochure for a list and confirm directly with your state licensing board.

Is the supervision course going to be offered?

Yes. You can register for either the Refresher course pre-conference Institute, or the full Supervision Track.

How can I volunteer?

Student members of AAMFT can volunteer for the Annual Conference by going to the Volunteer page. Only a limited numbers of applications will be accepted so it is better to apply as soon as possible.

Can AAMFT help me find a roommate?

If you are looking for a roommate, you can start a topic and post your request on the AAMFT Networks

Will I be able to purchase conference recordings?

Some recordings will be available after the conference on Teneo, AAMFT’s online learning system.

Can I get a refund if I’m not able to attend? What if I have an emergency?

Cancellations and any subsequent request for refund must be made in writing by August 16, 2017. Upon cancellation you have the right to request that your fee (in full) be held (for up to one year) and used toward application to another AAMFT event registration. If you prefer a refund, cancellations made prior to June 30, 2017 will receive a 75% refund. Cancellations made between July 1 and August 16, 2017 will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be offered after August 16, 2017.

Can I attend just one day of the conference?

Yes. Friday and Saturday registration fees are $220 if purchased by July 31. After July 31, the price increases to $325. Sunday registration is $190 if purchased by July 31 and $250 after that date.

Do I have to register if I am only presenting?

Yes, all presenters are required to register for the event.
