Online Therapy: The Essential Elements

Social MFTs have a responsibility to provide ethical, knowledgeable, quality therapy. As therapists strive to clinically adapt to a rapidly changing world, the same is true for online therapy. Prior to meeting clients online, there are four knowledge areas to learn in depth. In a discussion of each of the four fundamental areas, participants will hear about practical considerations, case discussions, risks & benefits, and available resources. Participants will learn how innovation, systemic thinking, and quality training are key elements to successful online therapy.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will leave the session knowing the four essential knowledge areas to study prior to providing online therapy.
  2. Participants will understand the risks and benefits of online therapy.
  3. Participants will begin to incorporate systemic ideas into online therapy.
