Join us as we explore ways to facilitate competent and confident conversations around ethics, race, and self-care in the supervision relationship. Students and individuals at all license levels welcome!

Session 1 8:00am to 10:00am:
Remember to Take Care of Yourself! Ethics and Practice of Self-Care for Therapists and Supervisors

This 2-hour webinar, led by Elizabeth Pratt, will be an interactive presentation on the importance of self-care in ethical practice.

Based on the content of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify potential ethical and professional risks of neglecting self-care
  • Learn experiential practices of self-care
  • Identify ways to model and share self-care practice with supervisees and clients

Elizabeth Pratt


Elizabeth Pratt, M.Div., Ed.S, LMFT, LMFT-S, is the Clinical Director of SAFE Homes Rape Crisis Coalition, the Managing Partner of Trinity Place, LLC, and Adjunct Professor of MFT at Converse College. E hopes to inform and encourage participants so that through self-care they may be better able to enjoy their professional lives and more equipped to serve their supervisees and clients.



Session 2 10:30am to 12:30pm:
Race and the Supervisory Relationship: Ethical Considerations

This 2-hour webinar, led by Elizabeth Brady and Jamesha Williams, will be a conversation between two Marriage and Family Therapists addressing issues that frequently arise in supervision in regards to race, and how white supervisors, in particular, can increase their competence in this area and ensure ethical practices with all supervisees.

Based on the content of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Increase their awareness about the role of race in the supervisory relationship
  • Develop an understanding of ethical considerations for supervisors in regards to race
  • Build a toolkit for continued work beyond this session

Elizabeth Brady

Elizabeth Brady graduated from Converse College in 2008 with a BA in Psychology and Art Therapy and then again in 2010 with a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy Degree. After completing West Gate Family Therapy's (now Emerge Family Therapy's) COAMFTE accredited Post Degree Institute, she served for three years as their Executive Director. Upon moving to Charleston, SC in 2016, Elizabeth returned to clinical work by opening a private practice, Salt Marsh Counseling where she still sees couples and individuals today. Elizabeth is the current SCAMFT Board Secretary. 


Jamesha Williams

Jamesha J. Williams is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, pursing supervisor candidacy in the state of South Carolina. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina at Aiken and her Master’s of Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse College. She completed licensing requirements and served as a fellow at Westgate (EMERGE) Training & Consultation Network. Jamesha now serves the Upstate SC area as a Family Specialist for Thornwell’s Building Families program. Jamesha has worked extensively with children, adolescents, couples, and families from various cultural backgrounds in private practice, not-for-profit, and rehabilitative behavioral health service center environments.

Jamesha is an advocate for the underserved. In the African Methodist Episcopal Church, she was elected as the international representative for young adults in the Connectional Lay Organization. She currently serves as a consultant for programming and continues to bring awareness to the importance of mental health in the African-American community. Jamesha’s passion for serving others led her to establish Magnolia Counseling & Consultation in Mauldin, SC. She is relentless in her approach to ensure those in need achieve their identified goals to be successful. A woman of many talents,she loves traveling, crafting, and spending time with loved ones.


CEs (2.00 per session) have been approved by AAMFT for LMFT and LPC in SC. Please verify with your state licensing board as to whether AAMFT approved events are applicable for your license in your state.
