Building Multicultural School-Based Family Counseling Services with Underserved LA Students

When:  Jun 12, 2020 from 01:00 PM to 02:30 PM (ET)
Drs. Emily Hernandez and Michael Carter from the Division of Special Education and Counseling at California State University will discuss their multicultural model of cultivating systems of mental health support with students, families and educators. Their recent book, School-Based Family Counseling: An Interdisciplinary Practitioner's Guide, which was co-edited by Dr. Carter and Dr. Brian Gerrard (who spoke at our last Zoom webinar) will be addressed.

Addressing multicultural considerations in "Eurocentric" US school systems is a challenging task. Drs. Hernandez and Carter will address these elements as they describe their systemic multicultural model of school-based mental health service.
