Trans people experience rates of assault, mental illness, homelessness, and suicide many times their cisgender peers. But one factor protects trans people from these outcomes: family support. After nearly a decade of experience, I share my hard learned lessons for working with families of trans youth using family systems theory.
Learning Objectives:
After this presentation, attendees will be able to:
- Name multiple risk factors affecting the trans population
- Translate family systems theory for use with trans clients
- Describe common factors of the lived experiences of trans people and their families
This event will offer 2 CEUs sponsored by AAMFT.
Other Information: If you are unable to participate on this date, please do not register. The webinar will be recorded and available for later purchase on Teneo.
