Webinar: So Tell Me About the Last Time You Had Sex

When:  Oct 15, 2021 from 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM (ET)

Presentation Description:

"“So Tell Me About the Last Time You Had Sex…” It’s the title of Ian Kerner’s new book and one of the first questions he asks all of his patients as a way of getting to the heart of sexual issues and impasses as quickly as possible. Every sexual event tells a story, one that is rich with clinical material and ripe for insight. In this workshop Ian Kerner will describe the art and science of the “sex script analysis” – a way of assessing and guiding treatment, regardless of whether you specialize in sex therapy or just want to better integrate your patients’ sexual concerns into the broader therapeutic alliance. Key themes will include: “rewriting” a patient or couple’s script; sheathing sexual behaviors in an “erotic skin”; learning why the sexual brain needs to not just turn on but also ‘turn off’ in order to enter in a sexual flow state and more. By understanding your patients’ sex lives in action, and using the here and now as an entry-point into their subjective experience of sex, this workshop will help you confidently talk with patients about their sex lives, but to clinically help them do something about it."
