2026 Leadership Symposium Speaker Proposal Form
AAMFT is currently accepting speaker proposals for the 2026 Leadership Symposium, to be held in Atlanta, GA, on April 16 - 18, 2026. This event will showcase speakers who are passionate about leadership and advancing the field of systemic family therapy. Lead speakers will receive a 50% discount on registration for the event (there are no discounts for co-speakers).
Please note that the application needs to be completed in one setting, therefore, all items should be prepared prior to submitting. Please read through the instructions for submitting a proposal carefully and complete all required fields. Completed submissions are due no later than July 30, 2025 for review and consideration for this program. Please direct any questions regarding the submission elements to Shari N. Session Information
Session Format – all sessions will be 60-minutes in length. We recommend 50-minutes of presentation time followed by 10-minutes of Q & A.
Co-speakers – You will be able to add up to two co-speakers on this proposal. Take the time to work with your co-speakers on timing and try to keep your presentation conversational.
PowerPoint – should you be selected to speak, please remember that PowerPoint should be used as a compliment to your presentation. Reading directly from a PowerPoint defeats your effectiveness as a speaker.
- Please use black font unless you are trying to highlight a specific point.
- Spread your content out so you can keep text on each slide to a MINIMUM. Use bullet points or short quotes that are easy to read. Keep text-heavy information for your handout materials.
- Use complementary color combinations on charts and graphs.
Speaker Agreement: All presenters accepted to speak will receive a fee waiver to attend the Leadership Symposium in full. Please note that this does not include attendance at the Supervision Refresher course. Speakers will be responsible for all travel-associated fees, including, but not limited to, airfare, hotel expenses, and meals not provided during the event.
Quiz Questions – these questions will be used to test participants' knowledge if they choose to view at a later date to earn continuing education.
