The Family TEAM is a network of advocates willing to volunteer a bit of time and/or energy towards furthering MFT policy interest. With all of the competing health care legislation interests, it is essential that the Family TEAM is vibrant and active. The more advocates, the more effective we can be in achieving advocacy success.
The Family TEAM has the overarching purpose of increasing AAMFT member awareness and activity in AAMFT advocacy pursuits through targeted grassroots outreach. This type of strategic mobilization has ultimately proven effective in gaining a more widespread level of legislative and/or regulatory support for AAMFT policy priorities.
AAMFT will actively recruit members for the Family TEAM to represent the interests of marriage and family therapists related to federal and state/provincial legislative activities. Important, is that there is a cross sectional representation. The Family TEAM will be structured in a matrix manner.
