The Impact of AI Bias on Clinical Populations: Implications for MFT Practice

Speakers: Dr. Florence Lewis & Dr. Niecie Jones

As AI tools become more embedded in mental health screening, documentation, and treatment support, clinicians must critically evaluate risks and responsibilities. This training will cover topics, such as how algorithmic bias shows up in AI tools and specific risks for vulnerable populations, including adolescents, marginalized identities, and families navigating identity development. Ethical and clinical implications for diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapeutic alliance will also be addressed. MFTs will learn how they can advocate for relationally informed, equitable, and transparent use of AI in practice.
