  • Emerging Professionals Networking Reception (Thursday, 3:00 – 3:45 p.m.): FREE

    The Emerging Professionals Network provides free programming and resources for members at the beginning stages of their career. The Network is open to students, pre-clinical fellows and pre-allied mental health professionals, and clinical fellows and allied MHPs in the first five years. Join us to network with your peers or come and learn how being a part of this group will benefit your career growth and professional development. Dress is business formal or business casual.


  • Family TEAM Reception (Thursday, 3:00 – 3:45 p.m.): FREE

    The Family Therapy Education and Advocacy Movement or Family TEAM is AAMFT’s grassroots advocacy program for members interested in advocacy at the state, provincial, or federal level. Join us for networking and connecting with your fellow AAMFT advocates.

  • Topical Interest Network Meet-ups: FREE

    Learn how to become part of the new topical interest networks that launched in 2019.

  • Exhibit Hall Grand Opening (Thursday, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.): FREE
    Join fellow conference participants to kick-off AAMFT19 with fun, prizes and complimentary refreshments as we officially open the exhibit space. This year's exhibitors feature great publications, excellent resources and must-have products. Meet representatives from MFT programs and universities. And don't forget to stop by the AAMFT Booth for information and tools to help you continue your education after AAMFT19!

  • Research Discussions (Thursday through Saturday): FREE

    Hear from poster presenters on the latest research in our field. The posters, selected for their innovation and potential impact on the profession and policy decision makers, highlight the wonderful work being done to demonstrate marriage and family therapy as a viable treatment option on a macro-systemic level. Earn 1 hour of continuing education credit for each session attended. View all of the featured posters here.

  • Lunch and Learn- The Internet Family:Technology in Couple and Family Relationships (Friday, 12:00 – 1:30 p.m.): $60

    Technology has a transformative effect on our relationships. As increasing numbers of people include cell phones, messaging, social networking sites, and email in their daily practices, people also encounter specific obstacles in their relationships tied to their use of the Internet. The purpose of this presentation is introduce a framework to evaluate both the benefits and obstacles of the Internet in relationships. Using this framework, we will also share with participants specific strategies that they can use in session to better assess and manage the impact of the Internet on couple and family relationships. Earn 1.5 hours of continuing education for attending. 


  • Approved Supervision Network Reception (Friday, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.): FREE

The Approved Supervision Network provides exclusive access to Approved Supervision resource and discussion. Open to current Approved Supervisors and Supervisors in training, join us for this networking reception to meet and connect.


    • Annual Business Meeting (Friday, 4:15 – 5:45 p.m.): FREE; AAMFT membership only

    Because AAMFT is YOUR organization, we invite members to attend the 2019 Annual Business Meeting and dialogue with the Association’s leadership. We will discuss the accomplishments of 2018, future changes and their impact on you, financial benchmarks, and Association news. Freely ask questions and express concerns related to business planning as we continue to focus on relevancy, innovation, and communication. Last year’s meeting was dynamic and engaging for members of all levels, as everyone is welcome to freely ask questions and express concerns relating to business planning. Join the conversation! Event is open to AAMFT membership only.

      Join us for a reception to kick off a night of networking and connecting with your fellow MFTs. This reception will spotlight existing programs while introducing new ways to engage in the association.
