This presentation discusses many facets of an eating disorder, addressing the general mental health crisis, awareness and prevention, the implementation of care, and discussing the realities of recovery and relapse. This presentation includes a holistic and systemic approach to aligning recovery efforts across professional networks, communities, and family systems.

Objectives of the Program – 

1.     Gain the ability to identify common beliefs, attitudes, and misinformation that contribute to eating disorders or pose a barrier to adequate care

2.     Identify at least 3-5 warning signs or symptoms of an eating disorder and an appropriate response for intervention

3.     Identify at least 3 underlying issues associated with eating disorders and the need to treat all co-occurring conditions concurrently of effective treatment

4.     Identify at least 2 ways to contribute to community and family efforts in ED prevention and recovery
