Associated with  AAMFT Arizona

Please join us for a live webinar, led by Carol ZA McGinnis PhD, SIP, BC-TMH, NCC, LCPC (MD), Professor at Messiah University.

Dysfunctional anger has risen as a national problem as evidenced by the increase in hostile interactions between citizens that include incomprehensible violence and shootings. Counselors are faced with anger in session on a regular basis and need to have tools that will help the client to make sense of this powerful emotion for positive outcomes that will impact not only their own life – but that of others. There is a paucity of research on functional anger despite a recent emphasis in our profession for positive psychology and wellness models.

Learning Objectives
  • Understand anger within a family systems context and empirically measure it as a functional emotion that can be stored and accessed at will by the client
  • Learn how to reframe anger as a culturally informed and family systems positive emotion for in-session practice with angry clients
  • Learn how to create customized family systems integrated anger interventions using a psycho-educational and intertheoretical anger processing model

This training is listed in ARIZONA TIME and registrants are responsible for converting to their own individual time zone. Additionally, AIN events are not recorded or available for anyone to watch outside of the live session time. Refunds will not be given for any reason.
